Roasted Poha Namkeen




"A delectable and healthy snack made with beaten rice seasoned with a right blend of spices. This is almost oil free recipe and a very good option for Morning-Evening snack. Can be stored in an air-tight container for several days."

Ingredients

Beaten rice/Poha
2 cup
2.
Peanuts (Raw or Roasted)
¼ cup

Cashews (Raw or Roasted)
¼ cup
4.
Raisin
¼ cup
5.
Roasted Chana daal
¼ cup
6.
Oil
1 Tsp.
7.
Cumin seeds
1 Tsp.
8.
Curry leaves
10-12 pc
9.
Green chilies, split lengthwise
2-3 pc
10.
Turmeric powder
1 Tsp.
11.
Black pepper powder
¼ Tsp.
12.
Salt
To taste

  1. In a large wok heat oil on medium heat and add cumin seeds.
  2. When cumin sizzles, add green chili and curry leaves and sauté for few minutes until both ingredients become crispy.
  3. Add cashews and peanuts and roast on low medium flame stirring occasionally till crispy. 
  4. Add raisin, turmeric powder, and black pepper powder, salt and mix well.
  5. If you are using roasted peanut and cashews, than skip the step of roasting. As shown in picture.
  6. Add poha and roast everything on low-medium flame stirring continuously till the poha is crisp and crunchy around 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. Finally add roasted chana daal and mix well.
  8. Roasted Poha Namkeen is ready to serve. Enjoy this light snack with tea at any time.
