Easy Rice Krispie Christmas Trees























"Christmas is all most here!!! It’s a time for celebration, greetings and yummy food. This easy Rice Krispies Christmas Trees is a very simple kid’s friendly recipe made with just 5 ingredients. And Bonus!!! They are very easy to make, relatively neat and can be your last minute holiday treat/school treat if you are busy and running out of the time. Kids are going totally love these cuties."

Ingredients

1.
Butter
2 Tbsp.
2.
Vegan Marshmallow ( I got them from Trader Joe’s)
2 cups
3.
Rice Krispie/Rice puff (I used Rice puffs)
3 cups
4.
Food color, I use gel food color
1 Tsp or as required
5.
Sprinkler
As required
6.
Ice-cream stick/Coffee stirrer
(I used 8 pc coffee stirrer cut into half )
As required

  1. Grease 10 x 15 x 1 inch tray and keep aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. 
  3. Add the Vegan marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted.
  4. Add enough food color to make mixture dark green as it will lighten when cereal is added. Mix well.
  5. Remove from heat and add rice puff/Rice Krispies.
  6. Stir constantly until everything is incorporated well. 
  7. Spread the mixture on greased tray using buttered spatula/wax paper or with greased hands and press evenly.
  8. Immediately sprinkle the sprinklers.
  9. Allow to set about 20 minutes.
  10. Cut horizontally into 5”x 3 rows. Then cut each row into triangles, you will get 6 scraps leftover, 2 from each row.
  11. Insert the coffee stirrer carefully. 
  12. These cute festive tree treats are ready to serve.
  13. Best if served the same day.

Quick Tips

  1. You have to be very quick and get everything handy before going on the flame. As marshmallow cool down very rapidly.
  2. To make these cute trees, press the mixture a little more firmly to get even texture and shape.
